Chemical milling

Chemilling (or chemical milling) consists of removing a thickness of material from a part by the chemical action of an acid.

This treatment can be applied to all of the part or a part thereof by masking the parts not to be machined.

Chemical milling allows a consistent treatment of all of the part and precise control of the thickness removed.

The chemical milling of titanium is necessary to remove the brittle crystalline skin (alpha phase) formed during the crystallization phase of cast parts.

Chimiderouil has large baths for treating large parts and specializes in the chemical milling of titanium parts.
